I heard that some people who believed him actually quit their jobs and hiked up into the mountains to be closer to God. I guess they are looking for a new job now. I think this is like the third time he has predicted the end of the world and been wrong yet there are still people who follow him. Unbelievable!

This airport security thing is really coming to a boil now. You`ve got the people who don`t want to go through the scanner....... so they get a pat down but then they don`t like a stranger touching them like that. So what`s the solution? Find another mode of transportation I guess. I would rather go through the body scanner. I havent been on an airplane in many years and have no plans to.

Black Friday is coming up. Better known as HELL DAY in the retail industry. I hope no one gets trampled to death in Wal-Mart like they did in 2008. That was just stupid. I`ll be glad when the holiday season is over. I`ve never cared much for all the festivities and stuff but that`s just me.

Yesterday on the news I heard that the wife of Clarence Thomas is asking for an apology from Anita Hill. You remember that don`t you? The sexual harassment case brought against a supreme court justice about 20 years ago. Now why are they dredging that story up again after 20 years? Just let it go!! Sounds like someone just wants some more publicity now. Maybe they are trying to sell a book or something. Who knows. Who cares.

I had to have my car fixed a couple of days ago. That dumb little check engine light came on about a month ago. I knew it had something to do with the emissions stuff. The owners manual says if it comes on then "tighten the gas cap and drive it for a few days." Well I did that and it still stayed on. I changed the oil, air filter and the PCV valve...... and ON it stayed. So I finally took it to a shop. They hooked it up to their computer and told me an oxygen senson was defective. They replaced it and everything is fine..... except my wallet. It cost me $437.00 for that stupid little sensor. OUCH! I had to have it though or else I could not get my car inspected. All these emissions controls and inspections are just different ways to stick it to the working stiff. Oh well, sorry, just venting a little.

I saw an advertisment for a lawyer on tv yesterday that said he was doing a class action lawsuit against lawnmower manufacturers for overstating the horsepower rating on lawnmovers. False advertising I guess. If that`s the case, then why hasn`t anyone ever sued the automakers for overstating the gas mileage their cars get. Some of the claims they make for full sized trucks are outrageous. There is simply no way a full size truck can get the same mileage as my Honda Civic. I guess they just have a lot of pull in Congress.

I sure get tired of seeing those Wal-Mart commercials where they say they are rolling back prices. It`s a lie. Well, not really a lie...... just not a full truth. If they lower the price on 100 items, you can just bet they raised it on another 150. Not by much...... just a few cents. Believe me, they`re not losing money. They don`t tell you that in their commercials though do they? It`s not just them though. All retail stores do it. I`ve been in retail for the past 20+ years so I kind of know a little about it. You simply wouldn`t believe the retail markup on shoes and clothing. How about 75% or more in some cases. Yeah well, what can you do about it? That`s just the way it is.

Talk about scam e-mails. I got one the other day that said my e-mail address had been identified as on that had been victimized by a scam. To compensate, they were going to send me $5,000 twice daily until the total reached 1 million. All I had to do was send them my personal info and a legal fee of $215.77. Does anyone really fall for those? I guess so, otherwise they wouldn`t bother. I should have told them to deduct the legal fee from my first payment and start sending.

Whew, this past week has been tough at work. Now the bosses have decided to make us switch between the night shift and the day shift from one day to the next. I won`t lie....... it sucks. Switching from the day shift to the night shift then back to the day shift all in one week takes a toll on a person. Doesn`t bother the bosses though...... they spend most of their time in the coffee shop.

Tiger Woods has dug himself into a sand trap that I don`t think he will ever be able to dig himself out of. If he loses his endorsements...... Well, he better have a good day job is all I can say. He brought it on himself though.

Boy everyone in the media sure is badmouthing Sarah Palin. They sure don`t want her to run for President. I think they are trying to discredit her because they`re afraid she might win. They say she`s not qualified. Actually, she`s more qualified than Barack Obama. She was a Governor longer that Obama was a Senator. I know, I know....... she`s a little quirky, but she can do like Obama did........ surround herself with enough advisors so that she doesn`t have to do anything.

Now don`t get me wrong...... I`m not a diehard supporter of Sarah Palin. I just think if Obama can do it then so can Sarah. She looks a lot better anyway....LOL. Have a good day.

Listen to this. I put out a couple of those sticky traps in my house a while back. You know those traps you put out to catch bugs or whatever crawls on them. Well I checked one today and there was a damn SNAKE on it. After I finished freaking out..... I threw it away. It was only about a foot long....... but I can`t even imagine a snake in my house. If it would have crawled on me while I was in bed....... I would have had a heart attack. I`m still looking everywhere I step...LOL. I`m wondering now how it even got in my house. I can`t believe the Obama administration. They say that there is not going to be enough money to give senior citizens a cost of living increase. I`ve been thinking about buying a new computer recently. Mine is getting kind of old and cranky. Sometimes I have to restart the dumb thing just to connect to the internet. I know my version of windows is outdated. I have an HP desktop now, but I`m thinking about a laptop. For a long time all I heard was..... buy a Dell..... Dell is the best...... gotta have a Dell. Now I`m hearing the same thing about Toshiba. Does anyone out there have any advice? There`s a lot of different brands to choose from. I have been advised to stay away from Compaq. But why? Do they break a lot? Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks.

Today`s beauty is Jennifer Lopez.

We`ve got this thing here in Texas coming up called the "Tax Free Weekend". It`s the last weekend before school starts and all the sales tax on school supplies is done away with for just this upcoming weekend. I hate it!! All the stores are jammed up. It just makes shopping an unpleasant experience. It`s not that big of a savings. The sales tax is only 8.25%. I guess even a little bit helps though.

Well, another black man got a beating by police. They pulled him over for a minor traffic violation. They told him to stay in the car while they ran his drivers license. But did he???? Nooooooo. He had to get out and start arguing with the cops. Then he started scuffling with them. Look, It doesn`t matter what color you are...... Black, White, Brown or Yellow........ If you fight with cops, they are going to throw you a beat down. If the guy would have just stayed in his car.... like the cop told him to..... then nothing would have happened, unless they brought up a warrant that is. I guess President Obama had better break out the beer mugs again.

There is a stray cat that`s been hanging around my place lately...... so I started feeding it. It is very distrustful of people. Must`ve been abused at some time. I have to put the food out and then go back inside or else he/she won`t come out. Sometimes it will be outside when I am out there. We just stare at each other. Have you ever tried to outstare a cat? It can`t be done. They will keep looking at you as long as you look at them. I like cats and dogs...... although dogs are too noisy sometimes. I`m tired..... Have a great day!

I`ve been thinking about this "Cash for Clunkers" program that the government is pumping billions of dollars into. Ok..... so you take your old gas guzzler in to trade in for a more economical model and you can get up to 4,500 dollars credit towards your purchase. That`s all well and good. But what do the dealers do with your trade in? They are supposed to scrap it. We all know how undeniably honest car dealers are. I can almost guarantee you that they ship them off to used car dealers to be resold. You don`t really believe that they are going to scrap a perfectly good used car do you? I think this whole program is just designed to help car manufacturers sell more new cars. Oh well, just a thought. Have a great day!
